Delaney is 11 months old!

On March 17, 2014

Delaney turned 11 months old!!!

It's also St. Patrick's Day :)

Here she is…

A few stats...

Weight: 23.6 lbs (just checked the scales)

Height: I just measured her and it looks like 29 1/2 inches!

Head: ???
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Light brown

Sleeping: Bedtime is at 7pm and she likes to wake up around 6am. She has a morning nap from 8-9 or 8:30-9:30am and an afternoon nap from 1:00-3:00pm.

Feeding: I will begin weaning her in the next few weeks by giving her a cup of milk at breakfast, lunch and dinner times. She has not had her first whole milk yet…but soon :) This girl LOVES to eat! For breakfast, she will have 1/2 a waffle and some fruit. For lunch, she usually has yogurt and for dinner she loves eating what we are eating for dinner…especially spaghetti and cheese toast!
Clothes: Delaney is mostly wearing 12 month clothes! Looking forward to warmer weather so she can wear all the cute outfits that are hanging in her closet :)

Fun Facts: Delaney is EVERYWHERE! She's cruising all over the place…no steps yet but soon I'm sure :) She's getting more TEETH! It looks like she is getting about 3 all at one time (lots of spitting up and early morning wake ups…but that's okay) Delaney loves BOOKS! She turns pages and is beginning to point at the pictures. She can say Mama, Dada, and bye-bye. She may say other things but I haven't figured it out yet. She loves to sing…and hum! It's the cutest and sweetest :) But my favorite sound is her LAUGH! She has the best belly laugh when she's tickled or when given a raspberry on her tummy :) Dylan didn't have a belly laugh like that until he was much older…so hearing her laugh is the best!!!

I cannot believe in a month you will be a year old…here are a few extras!!!

Delaney is 10 months old!

On February 17, 2014,

Delaney turned 10months old!!!

And here she is…

A few stats...

Weight: my guess is 22lbs…will get her on the scales tomorrow :)

Height: I'm thinking the same as last month…28.75in

Head: Again I'm thinking the same...45.5cm
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Light brown

Sleeping: This past month we had to have a little sleeping boot camp. We started at the end of January. Her nap times are the same and her bed time is the same but I had to get her used to putting herself to sleep. So, if she woke up in the middle of the night, she would be able to go back to sleep without crying for me to help. I changed her bedtime routine a little so I could put her to sleep drowsy but not fully asleep yet. I did the same for her naps. At first she cried, then she would whine and shortly after that she would just roll over and go to sleep. After about a week or two she was sleeping through the night! She would do it before, but she wasn't always consistent. So now she wakes up between 6-6:30am, takes her morning nap at 8:00am and her afternoon nap at 1:30pm. Bedtime is at 7:00pm after 2 stories and 2 songs while rocking. I lay her down even if her eyes are still open. I kiss her forehead, tell her "sweet dreams" and put her in her crib. It's a wonderful feeling to lay her down and not worry about waking her up while I walk out the room!!

Feeding: She now nurses 5 times a day. Makes things easy to keep kids on a schedule and luckily this one is working for her. She nurses at 6:30am, 9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm, and 6:30pm (give or take 30 minutes depending day to day). She's eating almost all table food now because she has been refusing baby food. She loves to feed herself! She will have a waffle (cut into tiny pieces because she shovels it into her mouth) and cut up fruit for breakfast, cheese and crackers for lunch and will eat what we are eating for dinner. (like green beans, peas, noodles and rice) This girl loves to eat! I am excited about her eating her birthday cake…I think it's going to be all over her!
Clothes: Delaney is still wearing 9 month clothes and more 12 month clothes!

Fun Facts: Delaney is CRAWLING and STANDING everywhere!!! She can say "Mama" and we think she has said "Dada" before. She loves to laugh and squeal…especially when playing with her big brother. She can "walk" with her walker and she is beginning to "let go" when holding onto furniture. She only keeps her balance for maybe a second…and then falls, but it's only a matter of time that she will be standing on her own and walking :) I am already planning her first birthday party with a theme of lady bugs…because to me, daddy and Dylan she's "bug" or "laney-bug". It's really cute to listen to Dylan say, "hey little bug!'

Here she is on her big day...

She wore a gown smocked by her Nana. The bonnet was also made by her Nana and was the one she wore home from the hospital. She looked so pretty!!! Mommy and Daddy were very proud :)

After church we went back to our house for a reception. We served chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches, fruit, chips, cheese and crackers, carrots and hummus, and of course…

Nana did a great job on Delaney's cake.

So blessed to have so many people come and celebrate this special occasion!

Delaney turned 9 months old!!!

We went to her 9 month well visit with Dr. Barker and here are a few stats...

Weight: 21lbs 14oz (93%)

Height: 28.75in (90%) *I think Dr. B gave her a little extra here...

Head: 45.5cm (91%)
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Light brown

Sleeping: Same as last month. Bedtime is right after bath at 7pm. She goes to bed easily but if something is bothering her (ex. constipated, runny nose) it can get in the way of her staying asleep. But if she's feeling good she can sleep from 7pm to 6:30-7am. She normally has 2 naps during the day. Her first nap comes about 1.5 hours after she wakes up. So if she wakes up at 7am she's ready for her nap by 8:30am. Her afternoon nap is when Dylan sleeps (thankfully!) usually from 1:30-3:00.

Feeding: Same as before...nurses 6 times a day for no longer than 5-10min. Usually at 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:00, 5:00 and 7:00. She has cereal with fruit for breakfast, a tub of veggies for lunch and cereal with fruit for dinner. She also loves puffs, mum-mums, crackers, green beans, peas and anything else that's on my plate (with the exception of meat-haven't given her that yet!) This girl loves to eat…and sings while she's eating!!!
Clothes: Delaney is wearing 9 month clothes and some 12 month!

Fun Facts: Delaney can pull up now! She still army crawls and may not crawl conventionally because she loves to stand. She can't stand by herself yet but she's getting stronger and stronger! She loves her big brother and belly laughs at him…it's the sweetest, funniest sound!

Delaney is 8 months old!

Delaney turned 8 months old!!!

A few stats...

Weight: ???

Eye color: Brown
Hair color: light brown

Sleeping: Delaney is not as good a sleeper as she was in the beginning. Bedtime is at 7pm right after dinner and bath. She usually goes right to sleep but sometimes she may wake up late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. There are nights when she goes down at 7pm and doesn't wake up until 6-7am! I like those nights! As far as the day…she usually takes 2 naps. Her first nap in 1.5-2 hours after she wakes up. So if she wakes up at 6:30am, she's ready to lay back down by 8-8:30am and will sleep 1-1.5 hours. Then she usually goes down for her 2nd nap about 1:30-3 or 3:30. Every once in a while she will have a catnap in between her morning and afternoon nap (usually if we are in the car) and it just cuts her afternoon nap short. But for the most part she sleeps about 3 hours during the daytime and about 11 hours at night.

Feeding: She nurses 6 times a day. Usually at 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:00, 5:00 and 7:00. I'm still pumping once a day after the first morning feeding to store and use for her cereals.
Clothes: Delaney is wearing 9 month clothes and some 12 month!

Fun Facts: Delaney has 8 teeth! Four on the top and four on the bottom :) She loves to wave and say "bye bye"! She rolls everywhere she wants to go. She hasn't figured out how to crawl yet but can get around by rolling. She has started eating table food!!! Her first foods were from my plate after Thanksgiving. She tried the stuffing, corn casserole and a roll. She LOVED it! This girl loves to eat…and will scream at me if I don't give her food fast enough. She loves her puffs and can easily pick up her food off her plate.
