Delaney is 6 months old...and a 1/2 birthday celebration!

Delaney is 6 months old!!!

And that means another 1/2 birthday celebration tradition has started :)

Delaney turned 6 months old on October 17, 2013.
Here she is...

A few stats...
Weight: 19lbs 12oz  95%
Height: 27 1/4"  94%
Head:  44 1/2 cm  94%
Eye color:  Grey/Brown
Hair color: light brown

My juicy baby ;)

Sleeping:  We are down to 2 naps.  Sometimes 3 if one is cut short.  She takes her morning nap about an hour and a half from the time she has her first feeding (and that still varies).  Sometimes she gets up at 5am sometimes 6am and other times I wake her up by 7am.  It helps to keep her on a schedule if she's up no later than 7am.  She takes an afternoon nap with her brother from 1-3 or 1:30-3:30 depending on what we are dong that morning.  She goes to bed anywhere from 6:45-7:30.  However, due to teething, she has been waking up 2 times at night usually at 12 and 3am.  At first, I was rocking and nursing her back to sleep but then it became a habit and now we are having to let her fuss for a while so she can learn to put herself back to sleep.  She's doing okay...still trying to break her of the habit though.  Any ideas, please share!
Feeding:  She is still nursing once in the morning and taking bottles of breastmilk the rest of the day.  She no longer needs supplemented formula bottles because my supply is back up from a medication I am taking to help with my supply called Domperidone.  It has really helped, thankfully :)  She usually eats 6 times a day and about 5oz with each feeding.  We have started fruits and veggies and so far she has liked everything I have tried with her.  Her first food was peaches!
Clothes:  She's now wearing 6-9 month clothing but mostly 9 month because she's so long.
Fun Facts:  She can sit up (for short periods of time before falling over).  She is expanding her sounds.  I have heard her say "ma" and "ga"!  She is really attached to her loveys and likes to play with the tag just like her big brother.  She has more teeth coming...just not here yet.  She goes crazy in the jumper!  She loves to jump and laugh and play with the toys attached.  And, of course, she loves to be held by Mommy :)

A few pictures...
She's like..."what, I'm 6 months old already?"
They sure do love each other :)
Happy baby about to go get shots from the doctor :(

After her doctors appointment we went to the FAIR!!!
And another 1/2 birthday celebration was born.  For Dylan's 1/2 birthdays we go to Ocean Lakes Family Campground but for Delaney's we will continue going to the fair!
Here are a few highlights from our happy time at the SC State Fair...
 Dylan loved riding the cars!
Delaney was all smiles...taking in all the lights and people :)
Next year maybe she can ride a few rides with Mommy!
Dylan is such a big boy now riding the rides all by himself :)

We had a great time!!!

The next day Delaney didn't feel too good.  I realized she never had the flu shot before and I think that's what caused her to get a fever.  Luckily, she hasn't had more than 99-100 degree fevers since she was born but after her shots she got a 101.4 degree fever so she was not feeling to well.  Thankfully, I am home to keep her comfy and give her all the snuggles she needs to feel better!

Happy 1/2 birthday baby girl!  We love love love you sooooooooooo much!!!!!!

Love,
Mommy, Daddy and Dylan :)

A Magical Kingdom...

We went to DISNEY!!!

On Thursday September 26, 2013 we took a trip with two other families to Disney World.
Here we all are at The Magic Kingdom.
From left to right:  Jack, Chris and Katie...Dan, Dylan, Kristi and Delaney...MaryBeth, Perry and Allie Jane!
We all had a BLAST!

The beginning of our trip began with the loooonnng ride there.  Here is a picture of Dylan at lunch.  We stopped at Burger King!
We began our trip early in the morning at about 5:30am.  Delaney slept until about 8:30am but Dylan was wide awake and excited :)  He was mostly excited because we put the DVD player in the backseat so he could watch movies on the way there...or as he calls them "moosies" (those v's and f's get him!)
Here he is in the back watching...
I was able to use a bungee cord and tie it to my headrest.  It worked great!

We had to stop quite a few times with a preschooler who is potty training and a 5 month old that likes to play and move around!  But they did great!!!
We stayed at a house that we rented with the other two families.  It had a pool and was comfortable with all those kids and adults together.  We were only minutes away from Disney so it made for an easy morning to get to the most magical place on earth!

We left for Disney about 8am Friday morning.  Here is Dylan riding the monorail...
The look on his face says it all...amazed!
Here are a few highlights of our day at The Magic Kingdom.

Dylan and Delaney chilling in the Double BOB...going in...

Posing in front of the castle.
It was so sweet...Dylan took Delaney's hand to hold for the picture :)

Delaney having lunch while on the "It's a Small World" ride.

We met Goofy...or as Dylan calls him "Goosie"!!!

Dylan and Allie Jane watching the Parade together!

Miss Priss all smiles at Disney!

Dylan exhausted on the Teacups!
Haha...this was late in the day (he only napped like 15 minutes in the stroller).

Lastly, we went to meet Mickey Mouse!
Mickey was the only character that signed his autograph book.  All the others had autographs pre made.  He was super excited and so proud of that autograph.  So much so, he took it to school the next day to share with his teachers!
He may look unhappy...he's not!  He's really tired and star struck!  He could not stop talking about meeting Mickey Mouse for days.  He would sing the Mickey Mouse clubhouse song and walk around carrying his autograph book!!!

So happy to share our first Disney trip with great friends!
We are already planning our next trip back!  Hopefully soon than later...these kids grow up so fast!!!
